Bethany Carter

About: Mrs. Carter was born and raised in Oceanside. She and her husband have three children. She enjoys family trips to the beach, river, desert, and mountains. Mrs. Carter feels blessed to be able to teach about God's love in all subjects and is excited to see the students’ love grow for their Savior.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s in Psychology from California State University, San Marcos. Multi-Subject Credential and Masters in Education from National University.

Kate Aguilar

About: Mrs. Aguilar grew up in Milwaukee as the second of six children. She loves going to the beach, playing sports, hiking mountains, drinking coffee, and spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Aguilar’s mission as a teacher is to motivate, encourage and support students by providing a secure, safe and loving environment to educate them spiritually, emotionally, socially and cognitively. Her goal is for students to build a Christ-centered foundation for lifelong learning. She is excited to build relationships with students and families!

Madeline Bourman

About: Miss Bourman is the oldest of seven children. She lived in Texas and most recently Wisconsin where her dad has been a pastor and her mom, a teacher. She graduated high school from Luther Preparatory School and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Martin Luther College. Some things that she enjoys doing are getting outside and trying new things such as possibly surfing! In her past time she enjoys soaking in the sun, reading, and working out! She is so excited to start her ministry here in Carlsbad!

Emily Glodowski

About: Miss Glodowski grew up in western Wisconsin along the Mississippi River, where her parents owned a small dairy farm. She enjoys spending time at the beach, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and traveling with friends and family. Miss Glodowski believes that a classroom environment begins with a Christ-centered loving relationship between the teacher, students, and parents contribute to the overall success of a student. She looks forward to being a part of your child’s spiritual and academic growth at Carlsbad Christian Academy.

Kristin Peters

About: Mrs. Peters was born and raised in San Diego County. She and her husband have one son. When they aren't at home on their farm in Valley Center, you will most likely find them at church volunteering or Disneyland! Mrs. Peters is excited to bring the message of God's grace to her students and their families.

Educational Background: Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in education from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego. Multiple subject and single subject life science credential. Current student at Concordia University Irvine in the MaED Curriculum and Instruction program.

Joe shiery

About: Mr. Shiery is originally from Escondido, and he and his wife met at Martin Luther College and began their teaching ministry in Bay City, Mich. Now he is excited to be back home again, as well as start a family with a baby on the way. Mr. Shiery loves playing basketball and volleyball. He also greatly enjoys playing and writing music on the piano and organ. In the classroom, he is privileged to have the opportunity to share God's Word with the students at CCA, as well as foster a positive classroom environment for all learning needs.

Josh Brisby

About: Mr. Brisby has been a teacher for 21 years. This is his 22nd year teaching and his 2nd year at CCA. He loves telling students about Jesus and the forgiveness God's Son won for the whole world. In Mr. Brisby's spare time, he enjoys chess, ping-pong, reading, and hanging out with his own kids.

ethan aguilar

About: Mr. Aguilar is a native of Southern California and spent three of his childhood years attending Carlsbad Christian Academy when it was known as Beautiful Saviour Lutheran School. He is excited to be back at the school, initially as a teacher and now principal! In his free time, Mr. Aguilar enjoys playing any sport with a ball, watching Marvel movies, and learning to surf. Mr. Aguilar strives to prepare students for a life of learning, leading, and serving faithfully wherever God leads and directs them.

Phil Sievert

About: Pastor Sievert has served as pastor at five different churches in four different states. All but one of those churches were connected to a Christian school. He is excited to be connected to CCA because of the energy of the kids, the childlike faith they display, and the joy that comes from teaching them about their Savior. Now that their four children are making lives for themselves, he and his wife Shannon enjoy hiking and walking their dogs.
